What is the best spot for a relaxing beach vacation late March to early April?

Looking to go away with my husband the last week of March/ first week of April and we need some recommendations. We'd like to go somewhere tropical. I've already been to the Bahamas and loved it but wonder if there is better out there! Also would like to take weather into consideration. Is the ocean water warm at this time? Summer season for me means going to the beach with nothing else in mind, but to relax, have fun and be wild. With my search for pristine popular white beach, Boracay Island ranks top. Boracay Philippines indeed is famous for its white beach, an affordable place to visit and enjoy white-fine sand.

Beach Activities – A two or three day stay in Boracay is not enough. There are just so much to do and try. I never got bored on my stay there. First day, I tried the famous Banana Boat Ride, a wild experience even old people loved to try. Jet skiing, water skiing and Para-sailing were the next activities. I ended the day’s happiness with mountain biking on the hillside of the island. Night life was absolutely outstanding! I could choose different bars depending on the theme, music or the people. My last night was enjoyed by having a dinner along the beach, with cool ocean breeze and live music playing.

Those in the know are aware that the “White Beach” is the main tourist beach and is lined with all manner of hotels and resorts. For the kiteboarders and windsurfers, you should go to Bulabog beach for action.

Food – Boracay offers a large variety of gourmet restaurants. Several world class gourmet places in the Philippines can be found in Boracay. I found a real nice Italian restaurant. I could eat pizza and pasta in front of the beach! For dinner, I tried French cuisine. I just love seafood at lunchtime and trying Philippines local food after a very tiring beach activity.

Shops – The very good thing about the island is that, there are many things to buy at really cheap prices. There are many local shops for swimwear, shirts, women and men’s accessories, souvenir shops and a lot more. Most of the stores are open until midnight.

Being that Boracay is just a couple of hundred miles from Manila it is a convenient place to go and the pricing there is not off the charts at all.

It is truly an outstanding vacation spot that I plan on returning to over and over.

For many years and generations the beaches of Sanibel and Captiva Islands as well as Gasparrilla and Cayo Costa Islands have been Fla Beach vacation stars. They are located in Lee County which is also home to Fort Myers, Fort Myers Beach & Bonita Springs. Lee is the most populous county in Southwest Florida, although you would never know it once you cross the bridge to Sanibel and Captiva and Gasparilla or ferry over to Cayo Costa. Bowman’s Beach

Of Special Interest: One of the best beaches in Florida, it’s a quarter mile walk from the parking lot to the beach (over a bridge) through beach grasses and wetlands. Bowman’s is located on the west end of the island and is the most remote of the beaches on Sanibel.

Cayo Costa State Park

Location: directly south of Boca Grande and West of Pine Island, Cayo Costa Island

Hours: 8 AM to sunset

Parking: Accessible only by passenger ferry or private boat. Ferry departs from Pine Island; 239-283-0015. Park fees: $2/person

Of Special Interest: The island is 7 miles long and has 9.5 miles of pristine beach on the Gulf. Its 256 acres look much like they did 500 years ago, when the first Europeans arrived here.

Gasparilla Island State Park

Location: a barrier island on Florida’s southwest coast, access is via Boca Grande Causeway at C.R. 775 and Placida

Hours: 8 AM to sunset

Parking: $3/vehicle

Amenities: 2 miles of beach, hiking/nature trails, restrooms, interpretive exhibits, picnic areas, showers, visitors center

Of Special Interest: The beaches are the Park’s greatest asset. They end at Boca Grande Pass, famous for its deep waters and tarpon fishing. The circa-1890 lighthouse once marked the pass for mariners. It is now a museum that explores the island’s fishing and railroad heritage.
